Birthday!!! Whoop whoop!

I am soooooo sooooo sorry!!!! I haven't posted anything in ages!
I will avoid spending time apologising and explaining why I haven't posted anything in so long, and will go straight to telling what I've been up to.

July 3rd, last thursday, was my birthday. I turned 17 (wow). I had to wake up 'early' because I had my Evolution and Cognition class. (Inside note for myself: BB waved @ me/ Michael's reaction. ) I wore my new black shorts with my new plain/basic shirt from UO. When I went back to my room, Tina gave me a birthday letter and a beautiful Chinese necklace.

I skyped with my mom and she told me about her friend and the birthday party they planned together for my mom's birthday. After that, she told me that they had send me a little something, so I had to go to the mail center and checked. I decided to wear my blue skirt instead of the black shorts.

I went to get lunch before going to the mail center because I was hungry. I got my usual salad, strawberry yogurt with musli on top and some cookies. I ate by myself because there was no one I knew in there.

After getting lunch, I checked my mail box, but I hadn't gotten anything. I texted my mom telling her that, and she told me that the webpage to follow the packet's trajectory said that it was already at Harvard. I asked the mail man again, but he assured that there was nothing in there for me. For some reason, I got very frustrated in that moment, and had a bit of an anxiety attack because I almost cried. I knew there was no reason to stress out, but I felt really bad and depressed.
I decided to go for a little walk to see if I started feeling better.
My walk lead me to Urban Outfitters (what a surprise...) and I checked the instantaneous cameras they sell. I've been wanting to have one of those for ages, but I always find that they are pretty expensive. I decided to ask my mom if I could buy one for my birthday. I obviously expected a no for and answer, so you can all imagine my excitement when she said yes.
I got so excited that I had to leave the store because I wanted to choose adequately which one to buy.

Meanwhile, I got an email saying that I received a package through the mail and that it was at the SSP office. I picked it up and went to my room to open it up.

When I got to my room, my roommate Paige was about to leave to NJ to celebrate 4th of July with her family, but right before leaving she congratulated me for my birthday, and told me that y gift was at the fridge.
She got me a box of Insomnia Cookies!!!! I am completely in love with those cookies, so that gift was perfect! :D I got so excited.
I don't like the chocolate-mint combination, but I decided to try a cookie with that flavour. It was incredibly delicious! I cannot believe I could like something with that flavour so much!

After eating that delicious cookie, I opened the gift from my parents.
I will attach pictures of the gifts I've gotten so far.
Just so you don't have to wait for the pictures, I'll tell you that they send me a letter, a stuffed dog animal and the COLOMBIAN T-SHIRT!!!! :D :D :D

Michael came to my room when I finished unpacking, and Roy (a friend I have on snapchat and that I've never meet in person) asked me if I wanted to go out somewhere. I said yes; so Michael and I went outside to meet with him.

We met him, and walked around Harvard Square. We found out that there's a Newbury Comics store very close to my room. After checking out the store, we went the Charles River and crossed one of the bridges. The view was amazing.
I just want to add that the day was incredibly hot and sunny. We were basically dying.

Michael didn't really got along with Roy, so he wanted to go back to our dorm; but I really liked Roy because he was very outgoing and chilled. We finally went back to Harvard, and Michael went into his room but I decided I was ready to buy my camera. Roy went with me to Urban Outfitters. I got my camera after waiting for an eternity in the line. After that, Roy leaved because he was going to play basketball, and I went back to my room.

Later on, Michael and I went out and got something to drink at Starbucks (coolers, because it was a freaking hot day! )We went to Newbury Comics again and Michael bough himself some kind of action figure, and he got me a 'bobby head' Daryl Dixon (from the walking dead) for my birthday.  :D

We went back to our dorms. I appreciated the whole load of things I got for my birthday (I am not used to get so many stuff for my birthday) so I was very excited.

I decided to open my camera. I read the instructions and tried it out. I am in loooooveeee with my it. The first picture I took was of the flowers I got at the Farmer's Market.

I love the way the image starts really bright and changes until it is the actual picture.

Finally, due to a storm that was supposed to hit Boston the fourth of July; the fireworks were going to be the third. Tina and I decided to go, so we took the metro and found a nice spot right next to the Charles River to watch them. We got there around 8 pm; and the fireworks started at 10 pm. My phone's battery died so I couldn't take all the pictures I wanted to.

 (Sorry for the crappy pictures...)

The show ended at 10:30 pm.
We started walking back to the metro station, when suddenly we saw that across the street where we were, it was raining a lot. It was really weird because it wasn't raining where we were. That didn't last long, because almost immediately, it started pouring rain where we were. It rained a lot!
I got soaking wet...

We finally found the metro station, and it was so crowded that there was a huge line of people waiting outside in the rain.
We decided to walk back to Harvard.

We (obviously) got lost... but after a lot of trials, we made it to Harvard Street.
We walked for an hour or more; remember I was soaking wet and that I was wearing my 'sneaker high heels' so you can imagine how tired I was.

We finally got to Harvard at 12:12 ( I remember because I took a picture of the clock with my new camera). It didm't turned out good, thought.
We were very hungry, but we didn't have much time because our curfew was at 12:30. We ended up going to CVS, where we saw Roy with his group of friends; and Jason. We bought Pringles, 'birthday cake' Oreos, cookies and Nutella to go. Just so you all know; Tina had never tried Nutella before. She loved it.

Jason, Tina and I walked back to our dorm and checked in. We chilled for a while in our room. Catalina, our other roommate, gave me a beautiful ankle lace and a bunch of chocolate.

I had an amazing birthday day. It was definitely one of the best so far; I cannot thank all my friends enough for making me feel so good on this day, and for actually celebrating it (because I usually don't).

THANKS :) xoxo
